GIBSON BARCLAY – Visual IDENTITY

Jon Gibson Skinner and Neil Barclay bring over three decades of combined experience in the professional imaging industry. Their work spans international clients and encompasses photography, high-end retouching, book publishing, and fine art photography. From bespoke private portfolio commissions to commercial collaborations with leading automotive brands. We were tasked with giving their brand a fresh, contemporary identity.

 
 

Through their extensive work in the automotive sector, we sought to establish a strong connection between their existing body of work and the new identity. We took inspiration from the car number plate and car emblems to create a distinctive wordmark and Logo. Its structured form, bold typography, and functional clarity provided both a foundation of inspiration and a visual language we could reinterpret.

 
 
 
 

The colour palette further strengthens this relationship by drawing directly from the road itself, ranging from the bold yellow of lane markings to the deep black of car tires. These tones create a visual vocabulary that is both familiar and striking, allowing Gibson Barclay’s photography to integrate seamlessly with the brand while reinforcing its authentic connection to the automotive world.
